Azure is a self-initiated design study for an eVTOL, an electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, created to show Avant’s capabilities across every stage of design. It imagines what luxury inter-city air travel could look like in the coming decade.
The eVTOL market is emerging, and Azure explored what a luxury passenger experience in it might become. Although it was a proactive study, we ran it exactly as we would a client project, starting with a short research phase to gather inspiration around the brief.

“Azure” is a rich blue, and it became our creative starting point. It led us to the vast, uninterrupted blue of the ocean and to the contrast between sea and sky. The form takes inspiration from the orca, and colour, material and finish studies were used to express a sense of luxury throughout.

Branding
To show the full breadth of our services, we developed a complete brand around the aircraft. The identity is built on simplicity and sophistication, aimed squarely at the customer this kind of luxury travel would attract.
Azure brings together research, concept design, colour and materials, and brand development in one project, the same process we apply to client work, from first idea to final presentation.
