The Emerald Automotive T001 was a purpose-built, one-tonne electric van, designed for the growing electric vehicle market. The project produced two fully running prototypes and led directly to the LEVC TX electric London taxi programme.

Our role
The Avant team was responsible for the exterior and interior design of the T001, taking it from concept through to the build of two fully running prototypes.

Outcome
The project, and the relationship built with Emerald along the way, created the plan for the LEVC TX programme. The technology behind the T001 attracted the interest of Geely, owner of LEVC, and became the basis for a new generation of purpose-built electric taxis.
