CONCEPT
Longbow
When Longbow Motors approached us, they didn't want just another electric car; they aimed to achieve something unseen since the original Tesla Roadster. The brief was bold and straight forward - a lightweight, electric sports car stripped of all distractions, designed to rekindle the spirit and excitement of an authentic British sports car, reimagined for the electric era. Our job was to help shape that vision into something both emotionally and visually engaging.

From the outset, this was never about overdesigning. It was about reducing the vehicle to its essentials - keeping it raw, focused, and direct. That mindset influenced everything, the proportions, the surfacing, the detailing. Every part of the car needed to reflect clarity of purpose.
We drew inspiration from classic 1960s sports cars - not in a retro way, but in how those vehicles expressed their character so fluidly. Clean surfacing, a confident stance, and strong mechanical expression formed the backbone of the design language.

Whilst designing we were very conscious that we were helping shape a brand that didn’t yet exist in the public eye. With any new marque, defining a signature visual character is critical. We worked hard to create something recognisable and unique to Longbow - a look that could evolve with the brand while feeling distinct from anything else on the road.
"Designed to be remembered"

COMMUNICATE
In the media
The Longbow Speedster and Roadster and are unapologetically niche, and that’s exactly the point. They’re electric, yes, but they feel like throwbacks to a more analogue era. This unique duality has captured the attention of prominent automotive media, highlighted by Longbow's front-cover feature on Top Gear Turbo magazine during their public debut.
Avant created and supplied all release imagery for the cars public launch in March 2025.

Avant produced all of the visual assets to accompany the first puplic viewing of the prototype. Ten specifically curated artworks were displayed honouring the brand and product ethos.

Only seven months separated Longbow’s public debut on the cover of TopGear Turbo from the private launch of its visual dynamic demonstrator. From rendering to road in just over six months, the pace of development underscored the ambition behind the programme and perfectly symbolised why the ethos of keeping things lightweight works
LP1 was revealed to a select group of invitees across two events held in London, on 31st October 2025.

COMMUNICATE
Virtual Studio
The Avant Virtual Design process played a key role in the development of the Longbow Speedster. Our fully interactive Virtual Studio is available to view online, allowing the vehicle to be experienced within a realistic studio environment. Take a tour of the Virtual Studio to experience the Speedster and some other of recent projects first-hand.

COMMUNICATE
The Design Story
Produced internally by the Avant Design team, The Design Story captures the Longbow LP1 project through the lens of the designer. Presented across 100 pages, it is more than a brochure. It explains the creative thinking behind key design decisions and documents the unique design process employed to realise the concept in a remarkably short timeframe.
